This Focus essay is intended to help educate Catholic voters on the breadth of issues for which they are called to consider during an election year. These issues include Human Life, Religious Freedom, Economic Justice and Fiscal Issues, Children and Families, and Education and Health Care. Free copies of the essay are available by contacting the Conference.
The Michigan Legislature recently passed the “Deferred Presentment Service Transactions Act,” legislation that regulates the payday lending industry for the first time in state history. The intent of this Focus publication is to raise awareness of this new law and to provide consumers with helpful information pertaining to the payday lending industry.
